There are many free stuffs on the net. Through technology, reading materials especially books are now available online. You may need to pay to view some but many websites offer informative materials for free. While browsing the net I found some useful links to free books and other free reading materials. I found these links useful when researching.

Adelaide University Electronic Texts Collection Classic works of Literature, Philosophy, Science, and Medicine.

Australian National University E-Print Repository Materials since 1967. Users may need to register for free.

University of Melbourne eprint collection Materials are created since 1945. Needs user registration with no charge.

University of Queensland's digital repository Includes e-books, e-chapters, online journals, various articles, working papers, conference papers and proceedings, posters, miscellaneous research output, and pre-publication (draft) material. Materials are created since 1983.

New Zealand Digital Library Collections available include historical documents, humanitarian and development information, computer science technical reports and bibliographies, literary works, and magazines.

Project Gutenberg Ofer free digital library of books no longer in copyright. Materials are created since 1971.

Alex Catalogue of Electronic Texts A collection of public domain documents from American, English literature and Western philosophy.
